Is that for, four or fore?

Golfing breaks in Fermanagh.

Now I don’t know the first thing about golf, couldn’t tell my eagle from my albatross, if I my life depended on it, but I do know that we are located in an area surrounded by rolling greens, otherwise known as golf courses and would love to welcome golf enthusiasts to enjoy our hospitality. If you love golf, you really are spoilt for choice here in the Fermanagh Lakelands! And after a hearty Irish breakfast, you’ll be all set for that long walk in the fresh air.

So, let’s take a look at what’s on offer in 2024.

We’ll start with Enniskillen Golf Club which is an 18 hole course near Castle Coole. It was founded in 1896 and is a parkland course which boasts tree lined fairways and elevated tees (whatever that might mean!) And Castle Coole is a fabulous National Trust property which your non-golfing companions could enjoy whilst you’re on the fairway.

Another option is Clogher Valley Golf Club a short drive away at Fivemiletown. This is a nine hole golf course which welcomes visitors and is set in lovely parkland with a restaurant on the premises too, so if you work up an appetite you won’t have to go far to fill up!

If you fancy a quick trip across the border into the Republic of Ireland you’ll find the Blacklion Golf Club just a stone’s throw from Enniskillen. It is known for being one of the most scenic courses in Ireland and is a 9 hole parkland course with coppices of woodland and some fabulous lake views.

Then within a few minutes’ drive from Enniskillen town you’ll find the Castle Hume course on Lower Lough Erne. It is an 18 hole championship course and is known for being one of the more challenging courses in Ireland, So good luck with that one if you’re feeling a little under par!

The Faldo Course at the Lough Erne resort, was designed by Nick Faldo whose name you’ll definitely recognise if you know anything about golf – even I’ve heard of him!! It’s an 18 hole course making the most of the natural landscape which includes a driving range and a short game area and has a reputation for a great golfing experience.

And finally, just one little mile from Rossclare Lodge is the Manor House golf course. It’s a 9 hole course with the most amazing views of Lough Erne and offers an enjoyable experience for players of all levels. And it’s so close that you can go after breakfast and finish up at the nineteenth hole!

Rossclare Lodge is ideally situated for your golfing trip in the Fermanagh Lakelands and we can help you put together your itinerary for the rest of your stay too. So do take a look at our calendar and book your room now. We’ll be here with a very warm welcome for you and when you book three or more nights in 2024, we’re offering a 10% discount if you book before February 1st.
