Because nobody comes to Fermanagh for the weather…
Here at Rossclare Lodge, we think about food quite a lot. Between the freshly laid eggs from our hens, the home-baked soda bread, and the afternoon teas by the fire, we’d go as far as to say it’s something of an obsession. So, when guests ask us where to eat out, we get rather excited. Pull up a chair and let us tell you about our eating guide to Enniskillen. You can thank us later.
Evening Dining: Dinner Worth Dressing For: 28 at the Hollow, Enniskillen
If there’s one restaurant in Enniskillen that demands a reservation, this is it. Tucked into the atmospheric vaulted space alongside the iconic Blakes of the Hollow — one of the great classic pubs of Ireland — 28 at the Hollow is run by chef Glen Wheeler and his wife Zara, who bring outstanding modern cooking, a relaxed dining atmosphere, a thoughtfully curated wine list and knowledgeable service. The cocktails are pretty special too!. This is an anniversary and birthday favourite of ours. Did we mention there’s also a Game of Thrones door carved from the famous Dark Hedges trees? Reason enough to book a table all by itself.
Open Tuesday and Wednesday for dinner, and Thursday to Saturday for lunch and dinner. Booking is highly recommended — this place fills up fast. 📞 0286632 8224 | 6 Church Street, Enniskillen
Franco’s, Enniskillen
A Fermanagh institution, Franco’s has been run by the Sweeney family for over 35 years — and when a family keeps a restaurant going that long, you know they’re doing something right. We have returning guests who eat there every time they stay with us. The menu spans steaks, seafood, lamb, chicken, pasta, pizza, and plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options, all served in that buzzy, lively atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re somewhere in the Mediterranean (if you squint a bit and ignore the Fermanagh rain outside).
Open Monday to Saturday, 12pm–3pm and 6pm–midnight.

Dollakis, Enniskillen
Greece meets Fermanagh in this absolute gem of a restaurant. Owned and run by a team of well-travelled food lovers, Dollakis brings the Mediterranean to you — and the result is a mezze-laden, flavour-packed evening that feels wonderfully unlike anything else in the area. Wonderfully authentic, great for sharing, and the staff are as warm as a Greek summer (rather more reliable than an Irish one). This is my favourite place for supper with friends.
Open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10am — closed Sunday and Monday. Booking advised, especially at weekends.
📞 028 6634 2616 | 2b Cross Street, Enniskillen
Important booking note: Dollakis ask that you ring the restaurant directly to book — don’t be tempted by any online booking sites, as these are not affiliated with the restaurant.
Molly’s Bar, Irvinestown
Molly’s Bar, Irvinestown
Just a short hop down the road from Rossclare Lodge, Molly’s Bar and Parlour Restaurant sits in the heart of Irvinestown and charms visitors instantly with its low ceiling beams, wooden floors and traditional fireplace. The food is hearty and genuinely delicious — and if you go on a Friday, look out for their famous Steak Night. Two steaks and a bottle of wine for £26.95 is what dreams are made of. Live music at weekends too, so you may find yourself staying longer than planned. This is our go-to for a spur-of-the-moment decision to eat out. We can even take Basil – and he gets a lot of attention from the lovely staff!
Food served from 12pm daily.

Tullana on the Green, Lisnarick
This one is a local delight, and we’re delighted to share it. Tucked away on the corner of the green at Lisnarick, Tullana on the Green has become a favourite among locals and visitors alike for its generous portions and quality menu. Highlights reportedly include a rather magnificent roast lamb, a lovely prawn cocktail starter, and desserts that have been known to make grown adults weep with joy. Open Thursday to Sunday for lunch and dinner — evening menu runs 4pm to 8.30pm. Do call to check because opening hours can vary according to the season.

Lunch: The Midday Feast
The Toastery, Enniskillen
We’ll just say this: artisan toasties made with Joe the Baker sourdough, paired with homemade soup, in a café that feels like it was designed specifically for people who take lunch seriously. The Toastery also serves homemade savoury pastries, granola bowls, salads and sweets, all made with local products and paired with speciality coffee. Tiny, brilliant, and very popular — so don’t dawdle.

The Jolly Sandwich Bar, Enniskillen
With its jaunty blue and white awning, pretty pavement tables and a cheerful window display always themed for the season, the Johnston family’s Jolly Sandwich Bar is hard to pass by. Established in 1976 and still going strong, this is Fermanagh daytime dining at its finest — homemade everything, legendary baking, and pancakes with rhubarb are to die for!
Open Tuesday to Saturday, 8.30am to 3pm. Closed Sunday and Monday.

The Street Kitchen, Enniskillen
Chef Marty McAdam is something of a Fermanagh culinary hero — a former Great British Menu contestant who has created a deservedly popular brunch and casual street food lunch destination right in the heart of Enniskillen. The merged brunch/lunch menu means you can have eggs Benedict and fish tacos at the same sitting, and nobody will bat an eyelid. Open Thursday to Sunday for daytime dining, with an evening small plates menu on Friday and Saturday nights. No need to book for lunch — just walk in. 📞 07711 871156 | 30 Paget Lane, Enniskillen.
The Gourmet Grocer, Enniskillen
Part deli, part café, entirely wonderful. Born during the pandemic as a pop-up that turned idle chefs into local food heroes, The Gourmet Grocer has grown into a purpose-built 3,000 sq ft store and café on Enniskillen’s High Street, offering fresh, local, and chef-made food. The upstairs café is the spot for a proper sit-down lunch, while the deli downstairs is perfect if you want to assemble a spectacular picnic for the lough shore. In fact our own Rossclare picnic hamper is partly sourced here.
Café open Monday to Sunday, 8am–5pm, with hot food until 3pm.

Molly’s Bar, Irvinestown (also great for lunch!)
Yes, we’ve mentioned Molly’s already — but it earns a second mention because the lunch offering is just as good as the evening menu. Lunch specials run daily from 12pm to 4pm, with the à la carte available from 4pm, and the early bird deal Monday to Thursday is excellent value. Basically, any excuse to pop in.
The Three Ways Inn, Enniskillen
This is on the Old Sligo Road on the way out of Enniskillen — perfectly placed before the turn-off to Florence Court and the Marble Arch Caves. The Three Ways Inn is a warm, friendly spot with homemade food that punches well above its weight. Highly recommended by guests who stayed with us recently. Lasagne, garlic mushrooms, beautifully cooked steaks — this is the kind of place you stumble upon and end up coming back to deliberately. Ideal if you’re heading out for a day’s exploring.

The Airport Diner, St Angelo Airport
Don’t let the name fool you — there are no delayed flights or overpriced terminal sandwiches here. Sitting inside the tiny St Angelo Airport building, the Airport Diner has colourful décor, paintings on the walls, and a lovely open view of the runway — a rather unique backdrop for a very good lunch. The fish and chips come highly recommended, and the welcome is genuinely warm, as you might expect in Fermanagh.
Open Tuesday to Saturday 9am–4pm, Sunday 12–4pm. Closed Mondays. Facebook
📞 028 6632 9651 | St Angelo Airport, 62 Killadeas Road, Enniskillen
Please note: opening times can change seasonally, so it’s always worth giving a quick call ahead — especially for evening reservations. And if you’d like personal recommendations based on what you fancy, just ask us over breakfast!
